The coffee producer
Tarekech Werash is a dedicated Ethiopian coffee producer who partners with our importers, Sucafina, through the Lalisaa Project - an initiative empowering smallholder farmers. Her aim is to achieve stable demand and fair prices, ensuring equitable rewards for everyone involved in her farm’s success.
Through Lalisaa, Tarekech receives agronomy support and hands-on training that strengthen her skills in cultivation, harvesting, and processing. This partnership allows her to improve both quality and market access, leading to greater income stability.
Her 5-hectare farm follows regenerative and shade-grown farming principles, cultivating diverse Ethiopian heirloom varieties that enrich soil health and biodiversity. She produces her own compost and avoids chemical fertilisers, reflecting a deep respect for the environment.
Driven by pride and purpose, Tarekech believes anyone who tastes her coffee will fall in love with its flavour and the story it carries from her sustainable, thriving farm.
